Clay, water and fire…

Manufactured in Bailén in the province of Jaén in Andalusia, our Cazuela dishes are made by a long-established family firm. Bailén, Jaén and nearby Andújar have been famous centres of the Andalusian pottery industry for centuries.

This very Andalusian ceramics establishment has been managed by the same family of artisans since it was founded. They make their cazuelas using a combination of traditional methods and modern technology, to create sturdy, attractive dishes with lots of character. Everything about them is right.

These dishes are good all-rounders: they can be used in the oven or directly on gas, electric or vitro-ceramic hobs – they can also go in the microwave and the dishwasher, all of which makes life a little easier.

Cazuelas also make excellent serving dishes for cold food, as well as hot dishes.

As they are from Andalusia you would expect them to be strong and hardy. The only bit of care they require is this: before the first use, fill them with water and simmer for 30 minutes or so on the hob. After that, simply wash by hand or in the dishwasher. And that’s it.
