Newcomer of the Year 2008
13 Oct 2008

Well, what a wonderful way to celebrate the end of our first year’s trading…

In mid-September we had a letter to say we’d been shortlisted for the Best Newcomer category in this year’s Warwickshire Life Food and Drink Awards – proud and excited we most certainly were.

And so – in early October – amid the mediaeval splendour of Warwick Castle, with knights on horseback and all sorts, in front of the county’s finest food professionals, the envelope was very slowly opened, and…we won! It’s hard to describe the exhilaration, pride and happiness of the moment. Marvellous. Thank you to the sponsors, judges and organisers all.

It happened so quickly, we didn’t have time to take detailed notes of the judges’ assessment (although we do remember the phrases ‘great value for money’ and ‘magnificent marriage of Spain and Warwickshire’), but as soon as the November issue of Warwickshire Life (which will cover the Awards Ceremony) is published, we hope we’ll be able to post more detail and pictures here.

One thing we can’t delay is to thank our customers, and our fantastic suppliers in Warwickshire and Spain for their enthusiastic support in our first year, without which we would not have achieved this.

Thank you.
